Jaipur's Pink City magic creates some of India's most extraordinary wedding photographs. Here is our complete guide to shooting in the royal capital of Rajasthan.

Jaipur: Where Every Corner Is a Wedding Photograph

Jaipur is one of those cities where putting down your camera feels like a loss. Every street corner, every palace window, every bazaar scene offers a natural, extraordinary photographic composition. For wedding photography specifically, Jaipur provides a depth of heritage backdrops — from grand palace hotels to intimate haveli courtyards — that is unmatched anywhere in India.

At Weddings Mafia, we cover destination weddings in Jaipur regularly. Here is our photographer's guide to the Pink City.

The Premier Wedding Venues

1. Rambagh Palace (Taj) — ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The former royal residence of the Maharaja of Jaipur is our top recommendation for photography. The Mughal gardens, the palace courtyards, the lily pool, and the extraordinary evening lighting create photographs that look like royal portraiture from another era. Every shoot here is extraordinary.

2. Samode Palace — ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Located 45 minutes outside Jaipur in the Samode village, this 475-year-old palace is one of India's best-preserved heritage wedding venues. The hand-painted murals, the inner courtyards, and the rooftop terrace create incredibly unique photographs that feel genuinely historical.

3. Fairmont Jaipur — ⭐⭐⭐⭐½

A modern luxury property with Rajasthani architectural influences. The large banquet lawns, the infinity pool, and the excellent lighting infrastructure make it an excellent choice for large weddings where photographic variety is important.

Must-Photograph Locations in Jaipur

Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds)

The iconic 953-window facade of Hawa Mahal is one of the most recognisable architectural images in the world. Best photographed in morning light when the pink sandstone glows warmly. For couple portraits, we position the bride in bridal red against the pink facade for extraordinary colour contrast.

Amer Fort

Arrive at sunrise (before the tourist crowds) for the most dramatic fort photography. The Ganesh Gate, the Sheesh Mahal (Mirror Palace), and the rampart walkways with views over the lake all provide distinct shooting environments.

Nahargarh Fort

The sunset view from Nahargarh Fort over the entire Jaipur cityscape is one of the best panoramas in Rajasthan. Position the couple against this backdrop for silhouette shots or use the golden light for warm, vibrant portraits.
